Homestar Finance – The People’s Champion 2025/26 – Terms and Conditions
1. PROMOTER
The promoter is Homestar Finance Pty Ltd (ACN 109 413 498) (“Homestar Finance”), a wholly owned subsidiary of Columbus Capital Pty Ltd (ABN 51 119 531 252) (“Promoter”). The promotion is in partnership with the Sydney Thunder, a Cricket Australia team.
2. Promotion Overview
2.1 The People’s Champion is a social media–led campaign celebrating grassroots cricket, inviting fans to submit their everyday cricketing moments for the chance to be featured in Homestar Finance content and selected as a People’s Champion.
2.2 Entry is via video submission on Instagram or Facebook by tagging @homestarfinanceofficial and #ThePeoplesChampion.
3. Eligibility
3.1 Entry is open to all Australian residents.
3.2 Entrants under 18 years of age must have parent/guardian consent to participate.
3.3 Employees, contractors, and immediate family members of the Promoter, Sydney Thunder, Cricket Australia or Homestar finance and its related entitiesor Columbus Capital may submit videos but are not eligible to win prizes.
4. How to Enter
4.1 Entrants must:
- Capture their grassroots cricket moment (e.g., backyard, beach, park, living room).
- Upload their video to Instagram or Facebook.
- Tag @homestarfinanceofficial and use #ThePeoplesChampion.
4.2 Entries must be the entrant’s own original footage and must not infringe third-party rights.
4.3 By entering, entrants grant the Promoter a royalty-free, perpetual, worldwide licence to use, adapt, reproduce, publish, broadcast, communicate, and feature their content across all Homestar Finance, Sydney Thunder and partner-owned channels, including but not limited to:
- Social media
- Paid media
- Big screen content
- In-stadium activations
- Campaign episodes
- Marketing materials and public relations
4.4 Entries that are incomplete, unsafe, offensive, or that breach platform community guidelines will be deemed invalid.
5. Selection of Homestar’s People’s Champion
5.1 A judging panel from Homestar Finance and Sydney Thunder will review entries weekly.
5.2 Entries will be judged on creativity, entertainment value, originality, skill, and how well the content aligns with the spirit of the campaign.
5.3 Selected entrant will be named Homestar’s People’s Champion and may be featured across social episodes, digital content, in-stadium entertainment, and paid advertising.
6. Prize Details- VIP Experience
6.1 Entrant chosen as Homestar’s People’s Champion will receive an exclusive VIP experience, which may include:
- A pre-game pitch walk, allowing winners to step onto the field like they are walking out to bat.
- A meet-and-greet at a Sydney Thunder training session, including the chance to meet players, take photos and experience training up close.
- VIP hospitality at a Sydney Thunder home game, including premium seating and hospitality access.
- Additional surprise inclusions, as determined by the Promoter, designed to make winners feel like true everyday cricketing heroes.
6.2 Prize inclusions may vary between winners depending on player availability, match schedules, weather, stadium approvals, and operational requirements.
6.3 Travel and accommodation are not included unless expressly stated.
6.4 Prizes are not transferable or redeemable for cash.

7. Notification of Winners
7.1 Winners will be contacted via direct message from the official Homestar Finance social media account.
7.2 Winners must respond within 2 business days to confirm eligibility and accept the prize.
7.3 If a winner does not respond within the required timeframe, the Promoter may select an alternative winner.
8. Content Use & Permissions
8.1 Entrants confirm they have obtained permission from all identifiable individuals featured in their video.
8.2 Where minors appear, parent/guardian consent is mandatory.
8.3 The Promoter may edit or adapt submitted content for clarity, duration, safety, or brand suitability.
8.4 Entrants acknowledge that their content may continue to appear across Homestar and Sydney Thunder channels indefinitely.
8.5 This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by or associated with Facebook or Instagram.
9. Safety Requirements
9.1 All video submissions must depict safe, responsible play.
9.2 Entries involving dangerous behaviour, misuse of cricket equipment or hazardous environments may be disqualified.
10. Privacy
10.1 Personal information provided during entry or prize fulfilment will be managed in accordance with Homestar Finance’s Privacy Policy.
10.2 Information may be used to contact winners, administer the promotion, or send marketing communications where consent is provided.
11. General Conditions
11.1 The Promoter reserves the right to amend, suspend or cancel the promotion where required due to circumstances beyond its control.
11.2 The Promoter may verify any entrant’s identity, age or compliance with these Terms & Conditions.
11.3 Entry into the promotion constitutes acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.
12. Campaign Period
12.1 The promotion runs from 09 November 2025 to 11 January 2025.
12.2 Entries received outside this period will not be eligible.
