Coronavirus (COVID-19) assistance

Our Homestar team have supported you through uncertain times in the past and we are here to support you through COVID-19.   

We want to help you if you have suffered a loss of income as a result of COVID 19 and  you can apply for Financial Hardship by simply calling our Hardship Team on 1300 099 382 or by sending an email to hardshipassistance@originmms.com.au 

Government information on COVID-19

There’s a range of government financial support and services available during COVID-19. 

The COVID-19 Disaster Payment can help you when COVID-19 restrictions remain in place for more than 7 days. You can find out more about who is eligible and how to claim the COVID-19 Disaster Payment here: https://www.servicesaustralia.gov.au/individuals/services/centrelink/covid-19-disaster-payment  

COVID-19 business support may also be available for qualifying Australian businesses.  For a breakdown of the COVID-19 grants and assistance in your state or territory, you can read more here: https://www.business.gov.au/news/covid-19-business-support-in-your-state 

Financial hardship

Should you be suffering hardship and struggling with your repayments due to loss of income, we can manage the cash flow strain together.

You may also want to visit Credit Smart which provides helpful advise for those suffering from financial hardship  https://www.creditsmart.org.au/struggling-with-debt/financial-hardship/. Credit Smart can also provide emergency support or assistance, including help with mental health, on their emergency support services page here. 

Government Debt Counselling services are available to help people in financial difficulty address financial problems, manage debt and make informed choices about their money during times of hardship. Free and confidential counselling services can be accessed through the National Debt Helpline on 1800 007 007 or their website here: https://ndh.org.au/ 

ASIC’s MoneySmart website offers free and impartial financial guidance and tools to individuals to help them make the most of their finances. They also provide additional links to financial counselling resources here: https://moneysmart.gov.au/managing-debt/financial-counselling 

Protect yourself against scams

Be aware of scams involving coronavirus and visit the Government Stay Smart Online website https://www.staysmartonline.gov.au/ on how to stay safe.  

Scamwatch is keeping Australians informed via their website at https://scamwatch.gov.au 

Here are some other ways you can protect yourself:  

  • Remember that we will never send you an email with links to sign in pages, or ask for your personal information, account details, PIN or passwords.  
  • Always ensure your computer and other mobile devices have up-to-date security software.  
  • Do not use public wi-fi to access your banking.
