Homestar Finance welcomed as new Principal Partner of Sydney Thunder Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) team, supporting bigger dreams in Western Sydney and beyond.

Homestar Finance has been announced as Principal Partner of Sydney Thunder’s Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) team for the 2025/26 season, expanding on an eight-year history of backing Western Sydney’s big dreams in sport and housing.

Homestar, which provides housing finance to communities in Western Sydney and across Australia, has been a long-term Principal Partner of the Sydney Thunder men’s Big Bash League (BBL) team, who have inspired a generation of local fans to dream big.

“Western Sydney is the home ground of so many Sydney Thunder fans, and we’ve been beside them for eight years watching as stars like David Warner, Phoebe Litchfield and Sam Konstas have shown what’s possible when you back yourself and have a go,” said Andrew Chepul, Co-Founder and CEO of ColCap Financial Group.

Backing big dreams on and off the field

Thunder’s WBBL team wowed fans last season, when they demonstrated how bringing self-belief, dedication and smart decision-making into the moment can combine to make success possible.

Women across Australia are bringing that same mindset to home ownership and property investment. In fact, data shows that women spend more time than men conducting online research on the housing market, indicating a strong commitment to making informed decisions based on a broad and extensive range of sources. Whether it is comparing suburbs, tracking market trends, or evaluating long-term value, women are approaching property with the same strategic thinking that drives success in sport.

“Thunder’s WBBL team are inspiring a new generation, including women in cricket and beyond, to dream big, and to back their aspirations with action and commitment so they can make what’s possible, happen,” said Ilias Pavlopoulos, Co-founder and COO of ColCap Financial Group said.

Making the cricket a home ground for community

Homestar will be engaging with Sydney Thunder fans at every single WBBL and BBL home game throughout the 2025/26 season, where we will be looking to support potential in the sport through building even stronger local cricketing communities.

  • Kids to star in oversized cricket ball challenge
This season Homestar’s investment in grassroots cricket will see us inviting kids from a range of local community clubs to take part in a fun, oversized cricket ball challenge, where they will be able to win much-needed equipment for their teams.
  • Fans the answer to new Quiz for a Cause
Fans in the stands will be able to get involved too, through Homestar’s interactive ‘Quiz for a Cause’, a mobile quiz that donates cricket balls to local clubs with every play, turning crowd engagement into real community impact.

“Homestar is proud to stand behind the entire Sydney Thunder squad, while continuing to support the future of the game through grassroots cricket; we’re committed to building strong foundations for the game, driving positive change, while celebrating every win.”

“After eight years of supporting the Thunder Nation, we’re looking forward to being on the ground supporting the community again this year.
